The pretty trees at the entrance of the Opryland Resort Hotel
My sister and her husband moved to Tennessee this year. We all decided that we would have Thanksgiving in Tennessee. Needless to say this was our first year celebrating Thanksgiving in Tennessee. On Thanksgiving Eve we visited the Opryland Resort to see their beautiful Christmas decorations. We decided to enter the Hotel at the resort to see what we could find. Wow! We were amazed at our discovery. Within the hotel there are three atria filled with stores, restaurants, waterways, plants, trees, and more.

Another atrium is called the Delta and has a Cajun theme. Within this atrium you can take a boat ride tour. During our visit we saw a gorgeous display of Christmas decorations including a pretty tree made entirely with poinsettias.

It was such a delight to see the beauty of the resort on the outside and on the inside. I took more photos, but did not want to plaster one blog post with 50 photos. An artist who aspires to become a children's book illustrator. Stays young at heart and an avid daydreamer. When the weather permits, I enjoy visiting/biking on the nature trail near my house. Visiting the trail has brought me many hours of enjoyment and relaxation. My camera is usually by my side while on the trail. I like to try to find the small and unnoticeable as subjects for my photos. And of course flowers and plant life encompass many of my subjects.

It woudln’t be Christmas without a poinsettia, so you know I’ll be getting at least 2. I’d almost rather have a poinsettia than a Christmas tree. It’s easier to set up, doesn’t require any strings of lights and doesn’t have to be turned on and off daily. I’m sure the kids would not stand for it though. Good thing I can have both.

We never do antnhiyg before the first Sunday of Advent. Then we start preparing decorations here and there, and put the tree up on the first week-end of the school holiday (generally around the 17th). And of course we bake Christmas cookies and plan ahead a light but out of the ordinary menu and light lots of candles, and enjoy Christmas Eve with our girls – just the 4 of us.
