During our visit to Tennessee for Thanksgiving, we visited the Belle Meade Plantation. It was very interesting to learn about the mansion and the past owners of the plantation. The Belle Meade was known for thoroughbred horse breeding. And they have a history of successful race horses. During our visit it was decorated for the Christmas season. When we walked into the mansion, there was a very pretty Victorian themed Christmas tree by the stairway. It had pretty beaded garland draped throughout the tree and charming Victorian ornaments. If we were allowed to take photos inside the house, I would have tried to get a photo of that pretty tree.
After our tour inside of the house, we walked the grounds to see what else there was to see.
We saw some very lovely magnolia trees on the plantation grounds and one of them that we saw near the carriage house, had gigantic roots growing out of the ground. My niece, Kristin, and nephew, Jordan, were walking on top of those mighty big roots.
Ahhh…..I love magnolia trees!
We also saw some gorgeous Christmas decorations at the Opryland Resort that I wrote about in a previous post.
