With the unseasonably warm temps here in Wisconsin, it’s hard to believe that Spring has just begun. Lately it has seemed more like summer. The sunny and warm weather has inspired me to work on a few summer themed designs for the magnets that I create and sell at my Etsy store, Lilly Bug Boutique. Here’s a little look into what I’ve been working on in my studio. It’s an assortment of flip flop magnets and my popular ice pop magnets. I have four different flip flop designs: a ladybug one, a butterfly one, a flower one and a basic flip flop. I also decided to add a pair of sunglasses as another summer magnet design. Wouldn’t it look cute to have an ice pop, sunglasses and a pair of flip flops as a set displayed on the refrigerator? A summer fun set of handcrafted magnets!

Currently I’m finishing glazing the flip flops and then I have to attach the super strong magnets to the back of each piece. Those magnets certainly do an excellent job of staying in place on the fridge. I love those magnets. There is nothing worse than a wimpy magnet, so I always use the super strong ones on all of my handcrafted magnets. In addition to these new flip flop and ice pop pieces, I also have a few more that I’m working on, such as citrus slices, strawberries, watermelon slices and a roller skate design. An artist who aspires to become a children's book illustrator. Stays young at heart and an avid daydreamer. When the weather permits, I enjoy visiting/biking on the nature trail near my house. Visiting the trail has brought me many hours of enjoyment and relaxation. My camera is usually by my side while on the trail. I like to try to find the small and unnoticeable as subjects for my photos. And of course flowers and plant life encompass many of my subjects.
