My first two published articles

Magazine covers of Clothe Paper Scissors and Create & Decorate

This month I have two articles published in two different craft magazines, Cloth Paper Scissors and Create and Decorate. I have greatly enjoyed writing both articles. It is a delight to write and teach others how to make their very own handmade items. In Cloth Paper Scissors I demonstrate how to make a burned out light bulb into a lovable decorative bird figurine. The three “birdees” featured in the article are Blueberry Cheeks, Pip and Flora. And to my surprise my birdee “Pip” made it onto the front cover of the magazine. Yay!!!! Did you spot him on the cover near the title?

Deocartive bird figurines, Blueberry Cheeks, Pip and FloraYou can see my birdees in Cloth Paper Scissors magazine and you can also find the “originals” for sale at my Etsy store, Lilly Bug Boutique.

Articles in Create & Decorate and Cloth Paper Scissors magazinesIn Create & Decorate magazine I show how to make three primitive style bird ornaments. It was so much fun to create these little birds named, Amberly, Lita and Mavis. After I made them, I was hooked on creating prim style pieces. If you’re interested in learning more about my birds please check your local bookstore to find these issues. I might also be giving away a free issue of Cloth Paper Scissors at my blog this week on Thursday to celebrate my birthday. Stay tuned!
