The Book Monster Review & Giveaway
The time has arrived! It is time for Ralphie’s Book Review of Emily Waisanen’s children’s book titled “The Book Monster.” It is such an enjoyable book. As you can see I have my nose buried in the book in the photo above. When you read this book you will learn about the variety of books that the Book Monster loves to eat. You will also discover one of his favorite places to munch on books. Plus, you will find the tastes and flavors of books that the monster enjoys the most. Who knew books could be so delicious and have such distinct flavors?

Here’s a little peek at the book-hungry monster dining to his heart’s delight on books of his liking. The clever writing style and lighthearted humor of this book will bring plenty of enjoyment to readers young and old alike.
Where is the monster going to……
The illustrations compliment the story very well. They are filled with bright colors and humor that matches perfectly with Emily’s writing style of the book. Here is one of my favorite parts in the book. The wide open illustration on the pages give you the feeling of an expanse of delicious books as far as the eye can see. Can you guess where the book monster is? It is one of his favorite places to find yummy books to eat.

An artist who aspires to become a children's book illustrator. Stays young at heart and an avid daydreamer. When the weather permits, I enjoy visiting/biking on the nature trail near my house. Visiting the trail has brought me many hours of enjoyment and relaxation. My camera is usually by my side while on the trail. I like to try to find the small and unnoticeable as subjects for my photos. And of course flowers and plant life encompass many of my subjects.
My favorite book as a child is Green Eggs and Ham by Dr Seuss.
Books – the keys to success! My books have always been among my most treasured possessions. I still have nearly all of my faves from childhood – they’re antiques now! When I find someone who has read the Miss Minerva books, or Uncle Wiggly, it makes my day! If all children grew up listening to books being read to them, and then learned to read for themselves, the world would be a much better place. Books are your life’s companions. With them, you are never alone. Without them, well…….you miss out on a world whose size cannot be measured!
My favorite childhood book was the Cat in the Hat!! I remember thinking how will he get out of the jams he was in!! And you can’t forget the fish and thing one and thing two!
I was a slow reader, so my mother borrowed Dr. Seuss books and I poured through them. But once I was reading chapter books, I’d go to the library and borrow the Raggedy Ann and Andy series by Johnny Gruelle. I also read every Nancy Drew that I could get my hands on. I liked browsing encyclopedias too. I was a weird kid, but as an adult, unbeatable at Trivial Pursuit. (No need to enter me in the contest since I don’t have a little one in my life to share it with right now.)
My favorite childhood book was Never Tease a Weasel by Jean Soule. I still love it!
The Three Billy Goat’s Gruff has been a long time favorite of mine & it became a favorite of my oldest son as a child. 🙂
I loved “Run Away Marie Louise” when I was little. At that particular age (around 5), I was always running away from home when I was mad and trying to move into the tree in our front yard!

My favourite childhood book was Matilda by Roald Dahl. Amazing story.
My favorite childhood book was “Madeline” by Ludwig Bemelmans. There are so many cute Madeline stories. I even had a little Madeline doll -with a scar on her side from her hospital visit and all! 🙂
My favorite book as a child was any of the Fancy Nancy books
My favorite books were the Bobsey Twins–they were my mom’s books and she shared her love of reading to me, and it meant so much that they once belonged to my mom. I hope I have passed on my love of reading to my children and grandchildren
My favorite books were The Boxcar Children. They were my brother’s books when he was a kid and I grew to love the mystery stories and couldn’t wait to read more of them.
The Boxcar Children was one of my favorite series too. I think one of my teachers used to read those to our class. I loved hearing about them living in a boxcar and how they made use out of the things they found.
I think Emily’s book looks like it will be loved by all lucky enough to read it. I think one of my favorite books was “Johnny Appleseed.” Kind of magical to a child how a tiny seed can grow to a pretty apple. I wish Emily lots of luck and joy with her Children’s book.
My favorite book was Horton Hatches the Egg. I used to read it to my neighbors all the time when I babysat. I now read it to my own child. It is so inspirational.
